The relative density test apparatus, as per IS 2720 (Part 14) and equivalent international standards such as ASTM D4253 and ASTM D4254, is used to determine the relative density (or density index) of granular soils. The equipment consists one each of: Vibratory table, with a cushioned steel vibrating decks about 75cm x 75cm. It has a frequency of approximately 3600 vibratory table, minute under a 11.5kg load. Amplitude is variable in between 0.65mm in step of 0.05 to 0.25mm, 0.25 to 0.45 mm and 0.45 to 0.65mm. Suitable for operations on 415V, Three Phase supply. Cylindrical metal unit weight mould, 3000ml capacity. Guide sleeve with clamp assembly. Surcharges base plate for mould. Handle for surcharge base plate. Surcharge weight. The total weight together with surcharge base plate and handle is equipment to 140 kg. / cm2. For mould. Cylindrical metal unit weight mould 15000 ml. capacity. The equipment comprises following:

1. A motorized vibratory table of dimensions 75cm x 75cm .
2. It will vibrate at a frequency of approx. 3600 vibration per minute under a load of 115 kg with fixed amplitude.  It will be suitable for operation on 415V, 50Hz, 3?Phase AC Supply.
3. Cylindrical Mould of 3000 cm3 capacity complete with guide sleeves and clamp, assembly surcharge weight with base plate and handle is equivalent to 140 gm/cm2.
4. Cylindrical Mould of 15000 cm3 capacity complete with guide sleeves and clamp, assembly surcharge weight with base plate and handle is equivalent to 140 gm/cm2.
