Rapid Moisture Tester is a device used to quickly determine the moisture content of a substance, including sand, soil, fine aggregate, or other construction materials. This device utilizes the rapid drying method, allowing for on-the-spot measurements of moisture levels. The device typically works by heating a sample of the material to evaporate the moisture content and then measuring the weight loss to calculate the moisture content percentage. 

The procedure involves the reaction between water and calcium carbide when mixed, a gas is produced. The gas is directly proportional to the amount of water present in the sample and results in a percentage moisture range of 0-25% & 0-50%.

The unit consists of a pressure vessel with clamp for sealing cap, capacity is 6 gms.

Rubber sealing gasket, pressure gauge calibrated in percentage moisture content on the wet weight basis, a counter poised balance for weighing sample, a scoop for measuring carbide reagent, a bottle of reagent, one cleaning brush and a set of 4 steel balls for thorough mixing.
